St. Ambrose Church Edavanakad, belonging to the Archdiocese of Verapoly is the only church dedicated to St. Ambrose in Asia. This 160 year old church is situated in an Island called Vyppin; which is one of the most densely populated area in the world.
It is a pilgrim center, a lot of people irrespective of religion, both Hindus and Muslims visit this Church to get favours and to give thanks for the favours received. The feast of this church is celebrated on 7th December every year . The feast begins with flag hoisting on the 3rd December.
The people are very much devoted to St. Ambrose. Every family has one member whose baptismal name is Ambrose or Ambrosia. Almost all parishioners working all over the world are ready to come back to this home parish of theirs for this celebration; with genuine love towards our saint Ambrose they come to the parish for the feast from December 3rd onwards.
This year parishioners are making a pilgrimage to Milan in two batches from September 25th to September 31 and October 16 to October 22nd.
